Thank you for this moment of your time and it is a great honor to welcome you to the 20th Annual Kirkes Black Angus Ranch Sale.
Our goal at K BAR is to produce the best angus seed stock in the business and top-quality beef. Pounds pay more now than ever before in the history of the beef business and that is tremendous, we consistently for years have had the highest average performance epds of all fall production sales and this year is no exception. With our commitment to being the breed leader of performance genetics make no mistake we will not sacrifice hoof quality for any genetic enhancement. We consistently produce as close to textbook hoof quality as can be found.
To be in the cattle business you must have ground, so it all starts at the ground and that is where we start with sire selection, from the ground up, if the pedigree doesn’t look promising for good hooves, nothing else matters! We have been very successful with this philosophy for a good many years, oh yes, you can have breed leading performance and high-quality carcass traits and good hooves. 48 years of breeding cattle myself and a family that has been running cattle up and down the Kiamichi River Valley and Mountains since well before Oklahoma was a state, in some of the harshest weather conditions in the USA, we understand cattle must have a good hoof or nothing else matters.
This year’s offering is the highest quality we have offered to date, I have listened, and these cattle are more developed than ever before but certainly not over conditioned. The hoof quality is tremendous, and I have never seen a group of yearling heifers cycling so good at such a young age. We will sell some of the best bulls and heifers in the nation this fall.
The bulls are not developed in feedlot pens they are out on the rocky ridges traveling and moving just like they must do in your pastures. We feed and offer the highest quality mineral on the market and our bull fertility is tremendous our yearling bulls will go out and breed cows for next year’s fall calves. K BAR has operated on the same ground for over 52 years and will continue to do so, you can rest assured we are in it for the long haul, so if there is ever a issue with your stock from K BAR don’t hesitate to call. In 20 years of production sales I can guarantee you K BAR consistently sells the most genetic value for the dollar spent no matter the value. The highest selling females from K BAR have gone on to exceed those values in sales for their new owners when offered at public auction.
